Fairground Cross edition of 15, 2/15

This is the great new edition from Andy. We have been waiting for months and months for this little set of beauties. Now for the first time, we have an affordable cross for you all.

Following the amazing success of his large crosses, we are very happy to have this small edition in the gallery. Styled on the original salvaged fairground woodwork, this is a remake of the amazing early works.

Each one comes with a meter long fabric bound flex and is ready to light up your life.

These will not hang around for long; the artist is just opening their first European solo show in Holland and the rest of the edition is for sale there. Be sure to drop one in your shopping basket.

A little bit more about Andy Doig

Neon artist Andy Doig shows us that neon art is much more than a façade of faded glory. Andy had his first solo show at Ink_d in February 2008 aptly titled Love is in the Air. Andy Doig’s show lit up our lives using the ethereal power of neon. Excited atoms replaced Cupid’s bow and arrow; electricity as the primer, glass the canvas, rare gases and phosphorous powders all mixed together to light up the gallery walls.

Andy Doig can pinpoint the exact time of when his love affair with neon began – it was 1992, the artist was in Chicago and passed a run down sign shop crammed with neon. Andy's work has been used in West End theatres, TV studios, on films sets, for DJ's like Fatboy Slim and on stage for bands. You can spot his work in and around Brighton, too - including the Ink_d gallery's own neon sign.

Most recently Andy was the Art Lighting Director at Suffolk’s Latitude Festival and has been involved in art installations in Venice and Ibiza.
