Andy Doig started making neons for artist commissions in 1992 under the banner ArgonNeon - London, clients included Liliane Lijn, Tina Keane and the Mondrian art society.
He went on to produce some original pieces namely the 3D neon sculpture "Argon Tree" and other sculptural forms.
His first art show was held in May 2004 where he exhibited at "Pop!" alongside Faile, Jamie Hewlett and street artist Banksy in a show that attracted audiences of over 7000. His brief was to fill a disused pit measuring 40ft square in an underground basement. The light installation used steel sign relics with mechanical chasers and randomisers.
In February 2008 Andy had his first solo show at Ink_d gallery Brighton, entitled "Love is in the Air". "Saints and Sinners" at St Martins Lane Hotel London was among other exhibitions this year that Andy exhibited in. Also in this year Andy collaborated with Dan Baldwin on Swallows and Skulls and also with Mark Anstee on other works.
About this time Andy began his first collaborations with Pure Evil, London. Further work for Tina Keene for Tate modern; "Sofa" amongst others followed.
Following that in 2009 Prescription Art invited Andy Doig to participate in an exhibition at the old music library in Brighton.
Andy Showed his 14ft 80kg 3 dimensional cross suspend on chains from the ceiling.
In 2010 Andy Doig was asked to exhibit for or Le nuit Blanche. Realising another kinetic sculpture 120 x 30 ft, across the temple-like facade of the town hall, Brighton. "Ravens in the temple"
Andy Doig was then invited to exhibit at “The Garage' gallery on Brouwersgracht, Jordaan district, Amsterdam. Under an exhibition entitled "Kings of Neon".
Further works were shown in Rotterdam for the exhibition - RAW art fair.
2012 was the year of Andy’s Second Show at Ink_d. "A Fun Afair" Focused on fairground art.
This year Andy has already had work exhibited in multiple locations including the show “Synergy” at The Store Street Gallery in London.
Most recently Andy Doig was the Art Lighting Director at Suffolk’s Latitude Festival and has been involved in art installations in Venice and Ibiza.
Having produced bespoke original designs not only for TV and film but for bands, stage sets, private commissions and well known artists Andy now focuses on his own beautiful creations.
Andy’s Neon Art and Fairground Crosses have sold internationally from Sweden to New York.
