A little bit more about Jimmy South
Jimmy South is a self taught outsider Artist, who after many years working as a Graphic Designer decided to throw caution to the wind and follow his dream. He now creates anti-war pieces of glass, with the intent of making very ugly objects beautiful and tackling real issues through a medium that often projects an image of bearded men in dusty aprons.
"I make the statement not only because I disagree with the business of war but also on a very personal level. My father did National Service in the 50's, serving in the South Pacific, testing our first H-bombs. He died at 42 when I was nine. Most of the men that served beside him, also died too young. I suppose its called another form of friendly fire".
Recently exhibiting and selling at Mutate Britain's - One Foot in the Grove. He met and became friends with Carrie Reichardt and is now the newest recruit of the Treatment Rooms Collective.
