A little bit more about Sarah Corbett & the Craftivist Collective

In two years Sarah Corbett has had a phenomenal rise from working alone under the name ‘A Lonely Craftivist’ to founding and running the Craftivist Collective. She is now seen as one of the leading spokespeople in the renaissance of the craftivism movement.

Corbett is most known for her Mini Protest Banners which can be spotted on the streets of London, Liverpool, Bristol and Manchester. These banners have also been lovingly crafted using the Craftivist Collective homemade kits and placed in public places by craftivists around the world including Copenhagen, Berlin and LA.

Sarah has delivered craftivism workshops and talks to groups across the UK. She was quoted in The Observer recently as saying: “Everything’s got to be about global poverty or human rights injustices in a fun and creative way, so that people can stop, think and act”. She continues passionately to inspire people to see her craftivism projects as a fun, unthreatening but thought provoking way of activism and is helping set up Craftivist Collective groups in Leeds and Berlin.

Corbett is currently collaborating with fellow craftivists on creating their first craftivist zine and documentary about the rise of the extreme craft/craftivism renaissance in the UK.
